Polyethylene, also known as polyethylene, is one of the cheapest polymers that is solid and waxy and inactive. This substance is obtained by polymerization of ethylene.

During the polymerization process of monomers that have a double bond, that double bond is broken and a simple bond is formed between the carbon atoms of the monomers, and eventually a large molecule is formed.

For the production of branched polyethylene, the polymerization method with Ziegler-Nata catalyst is usually used.
