Description of Penetration Bitumen:

There are two deferent kind of Penetration Bitumen, solid and semi-solid. Which obtained from crude oil distillation or with additional operations such as air blowing. This kind of Penetration Bitumen is more common than the other one.

Features of Penetration Bitumen:

Two features of Penetration Bitumen include, softening point and Penetration point. The lower the softening point of the bitumen, the higher the penetration value of bitumen and vice versa.

Application of Penetration Bitumen:

Application of Penetration Bitumen is in the field of road construction. They are also used in the manufacturing of hot mix asphalt for road.

In cold weather areas, high-penetrating bitumen and lower softening point are used. and in warmer areas, lower penetration and higher softening point are used.

Bitumen penetration grade 10/20 which its softening point is between 58 to 66 and its Penetration point is between 10 to 20.

Bitumen penetration grade 40/50 which its softening point is between 52 to 60 and its Penetration point is between 40 to 50.

Bitumen penetration grade 60/70 is the most widely used among all other kids of Bitumen penetrations which use in Road construction and other industrial Application.

Bitumen penetration grade 85/100 known as one of the most common kinds of Bitumen penetrations which use in Road construction and other industrial Application.

Bitumen penetration grade 90/130 which its softening point is between 43 to 47 and its Penetration point is between 90 to 130.

Bitumen penetration grade 160/220 which its softening point is between 35 to 43 and its Penetration point is between 160 to 220.
