Introduction

HDPE BL3 is a premium blow molding grade produced by Jam Petrochemical Company, one of Iran’s largest petrochemical manufacturers. With its excellent balance of strength, durability, and processability, it is widely used in packaging, household, and industrial applications.

Product Description

HDPE BL3 is a high-density polyethylene specifically designed for blow molding processes. Polyethylenes are thermoplastics obtained by polymerization of C2H4 ethylene gas. High density polyethylene is called HDPE or heavy polyethylene. Due to the compactness of the molecular chain in heavy polyethylene, its density is high and therefore their flexibility is low, so the impact resistance of heavy polyethylene is less than light polyethylene, but their resistance to chemicals It is also good for fragile environmental stresses. BL3 is crack resistant to environmental stresses and has acceptable impact strength and impact.

It provides outstanding stiffness, impact resistance, and stress-crack resistance, making it ideal for containers, bottles, and jerry cans that demand durability and safety.

1. High Molecular Weight

The high molecular weight of HDPE BL3 ensures outstanding stiffness, strength, and durability, making it suitable for packaging that requires both toughness and long service life.

2. Excellent Stress Crack Resistance (ESCR)

This grade provides excellent resistance to environmental stress cracking, allowing containers to withstand long-term exposure to detergents, oils, and chemicals without failure.

3. Superior Impact Resistance

HDPE BL3 maintains its toughness even at low temperatures, ensuring that products such as bottles and jerry cans remain durable during handling, transportation, and storage.

4. Good Processability

Its excellent melt flow and processing characteristics make it highly efficient for blow molding applications, reducing production time and costs for manufacturers.

5. Chemical Resistance

This material resists a wide range of chemicals including acids, bases, detergents, and solvents, making it ideal for both household and industrial packaging applications.

6. Moisture Barrier

HDPE BL3 acts as an effective barrier against moisture and vapor, protecting the quality and shelf life of food, beverages, and sensitive chemical products.

7. Food Contact Safety

When stabilized with proper additives, HDPE BL3 can be used in food-grade packaging such as milk bottles, juice containers, and edible oil packaging.

8. Recyclability

As a recyclable material, HDPE BL3 supports sustainable production and contributes to eco-friendly packaging solutions in line with global environmental standards.

Advantages

  1. Strong yet lightweight, reducing material costs.
  2. Maintains shape and strength during transportation and storage.
  3. Cost-competitive compared to imported grades.
  4. Versatile for both small packaging and large containers.
  5. Long service life due to durability and resistance properties.

Disadvantages

  1. Limited resistance to very high temperatures (softens above ~120°C).
  2. Requires UV stabilizers for outdoor applications.
  3. Lower transparency compared to LDPE.

Applications

  • Blow-Molded Containers: Bottles for detergents, shampoos, edible oils, juices, and dairy products.
  • Industrial Packaging: Jerry cans, drums (up to 20 liters), and chemical containers.
  • Household Products: Cleaning product bottles, personal care packaging, and kitchen containers.
  • Automotive Industry: Lubricant and coolant bottles, fuel tanks (with additives).
  • Toys & Leisure Goods: Durable, lightweight plastic toys and sports equipment.
  • Agricultural Uses: Pesticide and fertilizer bottles, water storage tanks.
  • Pipe & Fittings (limited use): Small diameter pipes or blow-molded fittings.
