PP polypropylene was first produced in the 1950s. It was initially estimated that the cost of producing PP polypropylene was lower than that of PE polyethylene.
PP polypropylene is produced in three forms isotactic, syndiotacti, and atactic, which is mainly in isotactic form with the addition of a small amount of other monomers (mostly PE polyethylene).
